Hijabis and soccer

I used to think that there is no place for headscarves in sports, because I thought the headscarf would fall off.  That's before I watched some YouTube videos about how to secure a hijab and different types of hijab that aren't going to come off during sports.  Hijabis must remove their headscarf in order to play for the Olympics.  I just don't think this is right, unless all displays of religion are banned.  If all displays of religion are banned then, well...I guess that would include hijab, as well as crosses, the star of David, rosaries, pentagrams, and any other displays of religion.  That is the only way that it would be "fair."
