Muslims For Life is sponsoring a month long blood drive in honor of the 9/11 victims.  They have partnered with the American Red Cross.  This group is eager to show Americans that Islam doesn't promote terrorism, but instead values the "sanctity of life."  They remind the public that most Muslims reject radical Islam, and that the Holy Qur'an teaches that life is sacred.  Terrorists have hijacked Islam and lead Westerners to believe that Islam is a violent and militant religion.  This just leads to injustices, racism, and suspicion of all Muslims.

On their website, this information is given:
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has, since its founding, upheld the sanctity of all life as emphasized by Islam. The Holy Quran teaches that life is sacred and reaffirms Biblical teaching that whoever unjustly kills a single person is as if he had killed all of mankind; and whoever saves the life of one person is as if he has saved the life of all of humanity (5:33). In his Farewell Pilgrimage address, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Even as this month, land and day of Pilgrimage are holy, so has God made the blood, property and honor of every human being sacred.”
I find this interesting, as so many people have accused Muslims of not standing up and separating themselves from the terrorists.  Muslims do stand up for peace; this is just one such instance.  Instead, so many people ignore Muslims efforts, instead choosing to discriminate and perform hate crimes against peaceful people. Just because someone is a Muslim doesn't make them a bad or good person, it just means they follow the religion of Islam, and submission to Allah.  Nothing more, nothing less.

Hello!

Hello all.  I am Amy, otherwise known as Lady of the Ozarks.  I'm a non-Muslim who is obsessed with Islam.  There are some things I greatly admire about Islam and other things I don't like at all.  I care about the plight of Muslimah's and their right to wear the veil.  Every day I read about Islam and read something about Muslim life.  Like I said, I'm obsessed with Islam.  I also want to learn Arabic, so that someday I can read the Qur'an in Arabic.  I hope that I can, even though I am not Muslim.  Please do not think I want to be converted or reverted.  I don't and you can't convert/revert me.  You will be wasting your time and I'll probably block you.  However, Islam is one of my interests and I decided to make a blog about it.  :-)
